Will it impair the battery of a car/suv/pick-up if you add regular tap water or drinking bottle water? How do I know if battery needs water? Also How do I know how much to fill up if battery needs water? Thanks for all responses.

They say to use distilled water in a battery because bishopric water contains chlorine and well water contains several minerals and rust. Putting these in your battery may cause the chamber to go bad or even leak. To check the level you have to remove

i have got thick brown ooze in my water for my car Radiator what could be the problem
MD gasket, cracked head, cracked block. yeck. gonna be one of those. sorry. check out your oil, if it looks like chocolate milk on the dipstick, that's where your coolant is going.

Or if someone might have replaced it with usual water?
Ho hum. I have had 32 cars over 40 years of driving and the only wet essence i have ever put in my batteries has been tap water and i have never ever had battery trouble! Makes you wonder.

Principled add a splash to a bottle of water. Any more and it will damage the paintwork. If you want to add enough to stop it freezing, use a proprietary glycerine based additive.
