water and diesel do not mix, so the water will be engulfed to the bottom. Since the fuel is picked up on the bottom of the tank, the engine would stop immediately with more than a couple cups of water.

I presuppose its coming from the heater coil, but I've never heard anything like it in any other vehicle. It doesn't always do this, but sometimes when I first start it and sometimes when I turn on the heater. Is this a puzzle or a normal thing?
It's admirably normal what you are hearing. The water from the engine circulates into the cab of the truck thru the heater core. This is how you get heat in the cab of your commerce.
