I have a Peugeot 205 GL 1.1 which I darling to bits. Lately the radiator has been staying on after I have shut the engine off. It always usually stayed on for a few seconds - 20 at the most but now it is usual on for 5 minutes and draining the battery
id get that looked at last i checked radiators are nothing more than metal and should be doing no operation at all more less enough to run your battery down

My Ford Explorer 99 overheated because of a leaking waterpump. The flash it overheated it started first with a rattling noise when stepped on the gas and silenced when released the gas. I noticed the temp magnitude going up and down in about 20-30 secs
It could be sleazy spark plugs, it could be many things. I would take it to a reputable repair facility and have them put it on the scanner and see what's going on. Most shops do this with no debt for an hours labor. This way you will pinpoint the problem
