Does Coasting In A Car Save Gas? |
i was philosophical this. on my way home from where i work, there is a pretty long hill that i go down. i was wondering that, if i put it in neutral and coast down the hill would it (A) keep gas?, and (B) hurt my car going back into drive (at 45 mph)?
You will soup your transmission if you shift into drive at 45mph, kinda not supposed to do that. If you wana save gas, just dont accelerate, but there are other things to check into for to save gas. For example making sure your tire pressure is correct
